RH Digital Distribution: Mamon – Creatures

EP cover final

Gothenburg-based hard rockers MAMON successfully takes us back to the early 70’s! They are mixing the groove from early LED ZEPPELIN along with a vigorous Hammond organ that makes you remember the first time you heard DEEP PURPLE’s mighty “In Rock”. Their first single “Creatures” is a mash-up of beautifully crafted melodies and arrangements, a skilled rhythm section that brings MOUNTAIN’s Felix Pappalardi and N.D. Smart to mind. Mix this with the dashing voice of Caroline Wennergrund and you got MAMON, a band that interpreters the best era of music in their own way.”

RH Digital Distribution: Psychic Sun – Rising Suns And Fallen Angels

Front cover

Australian band Psychic Sun was formed around a cacophony of retro swagger and modern mayhem. Featuring Mitch Tighe (guitar, vocals), Geoff Williams (guitar, vocals), Josh Holloway (bass, keys), Marques Bragg (drums and Rebecca Fitton (percussion, vocals), as a unit the band blend supercharged groove and dirt with ambient, psyche-based textures. Their unique sound is encapsulated in their 2014 self-produced debut album “Rising Suns And Fallen Angels”.

So far the record has made rotation on Triple J Unearthed Radio and various Australian independent stations, and has featured on blogs such as http://www.sludged.com, deadwrong.de in Germany and Recyclable Sounds in Russia.

RH Digital Distribution: Ethereal Riffian – Aeonian

Aeonian album cover
‘Ethereal Riffian’s’ from Ukraine full-length album ‘Aeonian’ is the band’s most mature work combining progressive stoner/doom with mind-bending psychedelic and heaviest riffs in the entire galaxy. The eponymous book merged as a result of band’s intention to fully disclose the ideas and concepts of this album. With this exceptional release, Ethereal Riffian have made a great step forward into showcasing the cohesion in their writing what resulted in a record that is certainly far above today’s standards. And for that you have to experience this album.

RH Digital Distribution: Mighty Oaks Solar Strength Band

omslag1400

The second Mighty Oaks Solar Strength Band release (titled simply ‘MOSSB’) continues where 2012’s ‘Validus Balanus’ left off. It features the same lineup – Bret Judges, Owen Keenan and Ron Duffy (it even features Gary Edmonds on one track) but whereas ‘Validus’ was more of a songwriter’s showcase with the music playing a supporting role, ‘MOSSB’ puts the music to the forefront. There is a more Progressive feel to the tracks (‘Fortune Suite’ clocking in at just over 11 minutes in length) and overall the band hits a groove together, the track list feeling rather like a set list for a concise Live appearance. Enhancing this lived-in quality is the mastering of the record which was all done to analog tape. Interestingly, it was during sessions for this recording that the Mighty Oaks Solar Strength Band also provided instrumental backing for one of their own influences’ upcoming solo recordings – ‘My Loving’ by ex-Steppes frontman John Fallon – which might explain the inspired feel throughout.

Three Seasons “Grow” out now on Transubstans Records!

ImageClick album cover to pre-order

Swedish acid rockers THREE SEASONS have been absolutely famed by fans and media for their genuine yet original 60s/70s sound, and there’s no wonder why – with the muscular riffs, grooving rhythms and really tasty solos, the band has found the perfect approach to the hard-hitting psychedelic, jammy blues rock from the past. And if their earlier work got you going (or perhaps “brought forth rivers of tears of joy in the eyes of music consumers and loudspeakers”, as one reviewer thought), the band’s upcoming full-length album GROW is guaranteed to get you going even more. On GROW we get 8 songs of the highest quality, all of which show a special side of the band’s music. To name a few, there is “Which Way” with a mystical opening that turns into a catchy, folky groove; “Drowning”, a full-on riffer with high energy and great latino-style percussion; “No Shame”, where the album gets emotional with some really heartfelt vocals; and in “Tablas of Bahar” there is the wordless magic of a traveling, many-sided instrumental. Further, an important novelty on this record is that lead guitarist and vocalist Sartez Faraj now also handles the hammond organ with great success – check out the 10-minute epic “Familiar Song” for sweet psychedelic melodies, great riffings and a most penetrating organ solo. To summarise: this album is certainly one of the musical higlights of 2014. The band has set their bar very high – previous releases LIFE’S ROAD, ESCAPE and UNDERSTAND THE WORLD have not only received loads of top score-reviews, high spots on the official album charts and “Best album of the year” awards, but also been sold-out and re-pressed – but GROW is sure to beat all expectations.

RH Digital Distribution: Cosmic Overlord & The Satellite Circle

Cosmic Overlord delivers heavy and doomy tunes in the style of Saint Vitus, Black Sabbath and Candlemass. A slow and heavy mix of rough edged vocals, guitar riffs, distorted moving bass, alien analog synth effects and prog weirdo percussion will send you far into outer space.

——————————————————————————–

ImageThis band make no secret of their driving inspiration. A cover featuring large, pink bubble letters and a girl with a 70’s hair-do leave no ambiguities about classification. This Swedish trio are the ultimate in psychedelic stoner doom metal. Massive, ripping guitar distorsion, echoing drums, sitars and tambourines lay waste to all cheery exuberance.

ImageAn absolutely high-recommendable five song EP from this Swedish power trio. The roots of the CIRCLE lay back in 1997 and this demo is from 1999, recorded in two days in July. The band is having a lot of 70’s influences, like for example SIR LORD BALTIMORE, MOUNTAIN, BLUE CHEER or GRAND FUNK RAILROAD and The Satellite Circle create the same vibe like these bands.

RH Digital Distribution: Demoner – Anakronism

ImageJazz Rock, Prog, Psych, Instrumental Rock. Call it what you want. Demoner wants to play the movie inside your head in order to create groove, pain, anguish and ecstasy. This band  has got one foot in the psychedelic instrumental rock and the other one in the afro-american improvisation music. In the middle of this there is a grand passion for soundtracks, and the timeless melancholic edge of Swedish folk music. Fläsket Brinner meets Herbie Hancock, King Crimson meets Jaga Jazzist.
Kebnekajse meets Mahavishnu Orchestra and so on…

Anakronism is the debut of Demoner. It was recorded in one weekend, October 2013 in Malmoe’s own Tambourine Studios. All tracks were recorded live to capture the organic partnership between the musicians.
